Who made this?

Hey all, my username is Soracayo, though my real name is Carlos. As of January 11, 2024 I am 17 years old. I aspire to make lots of things, and that's not even all that is going on in my life. Though that's none of your business, unfortunately.

I'm kind of a Nintendo fan, though I also like several non-Nintendo game franchises. I also love video game music.

The purpose of this page is to serve as a bit of an info page on how this page's purpose came to be, as well as a summary of non-Earth's Heart things I've seen myself entangled with.

History of Soracayo

Waddling Around

The year was 2011 (i think). 5-year-old me typed the cursed word into the "Create Penguin" page on clubpenguin.com. I started with my two favorite letters, and worked my way to the end with a series of sylabbles that I thought sounded well together. Yes. That was it... my penguin would be called... Soracay. I played Club Penguin for roughly 4 years, and while it was really important to me, there was another thing in my life that would wind up being integral to the way I am as a person.

Stupid Nintendo Games!

While I've never owned any kind of video game console, my cousins had Wii's, and one of them had both a DS and a 3DS. I also remember living through the launch off the Wii U, which always looked like the coolest thing ever to me. I remember that every time I visited my cousins, the main event was playing some Mario Kart, or Wii Sports, or the Vs. Mode of New Super Mario Bros. on the DS. I have lots of fond memories of making and re-making my Mii over and over, since my cousins would delete it to make space for others while I was gone. Of course, that was only a couple of hours a week, but it still left an impact on me. My dad said I was obsessed, but how could I not be? Have you seen Wii Sports fencing?

Since I didn't have any consoles at home, I eventually came to know emulation, which gave me an interest on the history of video games. I started out thinking that only online emulators, though I eventually came to know the truth. My favorite was the All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3, but other games such as A Link to the Past and Super Mario 64 were mind-blowing to me.

One day, one of my uncles got his hands on an NES Classic. After a few rounds of Donkey Kong, Excitebike and Pac-Man, I decided to try Kirby's Adventure. I had heard of Kirby before, but didn't really know much about the franchise. The game was pretty fun, copy abilities were awesome, and I think that was the first time I was introduced to the concept of boss battles that didn't absolutely stink. I went home, and found out that the game had a remake on GBA. I played through it, and it was awesome! It was the first video game I ever beat. I was officially a Kirby fan.

The Dark Ages

That's right, I was an Undertale fan at one point. It's a good game but I think it made me act way more cringe than I was supposed to, especially online. Not the game's fault, I was just a boy in his early teens with few friends and a lot of time in his hands. Now, I wasn't THAT bad. Annoying, yes, but as regrettable as this part of my life was, it would wind up being integral to what would come after.

I got into the Henry Stickmin games, and, bored, used my shiny new Soracayo Discord account to join an RP server. Oh yeah, I decided to add an 'o' to my Club Penguin username because I thought it sounded better. I had a few characters to use, uh... I had... Charles. Yeah, he wasn't the most fleshed out thing ever, just a puppet for me to vaguely interact in the setting of the server. I don't want to talk about those early days.

The one standout thing was another user, who created a character named Windsor. That's it.

Breaking Out of the Pit

Playing Earthbound was my key to becoming un-cringe. I realized that I could be wasting my time on something better. Namely, attempting to hack the game to put sprites of characters from the server. It did not work. It devolved into making a whole romhack that was a variation of Earthbound with altered elements coming from the characters. It did not work. I went batsh*t insane and tried to make my own whole-ass game out of it. It didn't work out. Then I tried aga-

Earth's Heart (woo!)

All the time trying again and again lead to me becoming conscious of my own writing, and gave me motivation to make actual characters out of the characters, even those that weren't my own. However, no matter how much I refined my writing, it alone doesn't make a game. I'm still struggling with that.

2007 and Beyond Time

What will the future of my projects bring me? No man truly knows. Except me. Maybe it will bring us nothing. Maybe I will be the man to find the One Piece Chicken McNugget. Anyways here are some things lol

Soracayo SQUARED

A Scott the Woz-esque Youtube channel. I'm not too sure about this one, but it's the one project of mine that is the most within my current reach.

Hathunters

I once became a co-writer for a fanfiction based on the corner of the Henry Stickmin fandom I used to be a part of. No chapter written by me has released yet, and personally the project is more of a training ground for me to get a hold of the way I'll use some of the characters in Earth's Heart.
