Nugget #1

Hi, I'm Sora.

If you're here you probably saw both yesterday's and today's tweet.

I promised I'd talk about the stuff I've made, huh...

Well, I can try.

The History of the Thing

You ever play EarthBound? That game genuinely changed me. I used to be yet another mindless 14 year old with an OC, but something about that game... it gave me the will to make something much more personal. I was in a Discord server with people who also had other characters. The plan was to hack them into EarthBound, you know... as a joke. But then, it snapped. No... I had to make my own game! Not that I wasn't able to hack the game for some reason- no! I had to go above and beyond. I had to make...

...sunlight?

That was the game's original name. Why did I name it that? No idea. But the concepts I developed for that game are (mostly) still there, though admittedly a lot more polished. It's honestly impressive how much the project's core identity has remained the same, even if I've matured a lot. As I became more aware of my own work, I became more rude to others... many people were meant to work on this, but they all bailed on me, mostly out of a lack of interest and progress. Oh well. I like to think I've learned something from this.

Surely the name Sunlight didn't stay, right? Well, you're right! One day I was fed up, sat down, and started scribbling names on a notebook. After an hour or so, going through all sorts of places in the story I could pull the name from, so many different influences, I proudly scribbled the name in the center of the page. The name of the masterpiece I'd devote the rest of my life to.

Earth's Heart.

Honestly a rather impressive stroke of genius given how terrible of a writer I was three years ago. The name stayed, and it probably will remain the same forever. Great! However
What.. the hell is Earth's Heart exactly?

A turn-based RPG set in the late 2010's where the story revolves around a set of ancient magical gems (yes, Sonic influence is also involved in this. Shut up. Kirby's here too.) There are four main party members, and the game isn't that heavy in its themes and structure. More elements have been added since, but that's a story for another time. Does that sound too vague for you? Don't worry, there will be more nuggets coming in a few days. Until then...
